FELLOWSHIP

  • Greater Episcopal Movers and Shakers meets on the third Friday of every month for parishioners 55 and over.  Bring your favorite drink and dish to share.
  • Zorbas fellowship is a gathering at Zorbas in Irmo on the first Thursday of every month.  Join us for food, drink, and fun.
  • Daughters of the King: An organization devoted to prayer and service.  After an initial discernment period members gather once a month.
  • Men’s Ministry:  The men of SSSJ meet periodically for food and fellowship.

OUTREACH

SSSJ JAM BAND

SSSJ Jam Band:  Meets every Sunday from 2-3:30pm to practice seasonal oldies.  Then they play for the memory care units at Still Hopes, Carroll Campbell, and NHC.  All instruments and vocalist are welcome.

CRAFTING FOR A CAUSE

On the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at 10am meets to craft for the NICU, veterans center, and for those in need. Also bring your knitting to participate in our prayer shawl ministry.

BLAZERS PROGRAM

We work with the young men of the Department of Juvenile Justice to help them learn real world skills that will benefit them as they exit the system and determine their next steps for success.  11 Weeks in the Spring/Summer

PARTNERS

We also partner with Sharing God’s Love: food pantry, Resurrections Lunch on the Lawn, Snackpack and Columbia Resilience clinic to offer support and care for those in need in Irmo.

Sunday after the 10am service we explore a variety of theological and sociological topics.  New topic every week!

Tuesday Morning book study

Enjoy theological reading and discussion every morning at 10am.  Available in person and online.

EDUCATION FOR MINISTRY

This deeply historical and theological program gives participants a grounded theological education.  One year and four year options available.

YOUTH & CHILDREN

We believe that children and youth belong in the church! In the Episcopal Church formation happens in worship as well as continued formation classes.  Coming soon; join us at the 4:30pm specifically designed for you to grow in Christ together!  Then, join us for dinner as we fellowship, study, and walk the way of Christ together. 

We build youth events around the Lexington/Richland 5 Calendar.  Check out our Events page to learn more about our Winter retreat, Spaghetti Supper, summer mission trip and VBS. 

WORSHIP MINISTRIES

  • Choir:  Our director led choir accompanied by organ and piano meets every Wednesday from 7-8:15pm. We sing in four parts and have about 20 members.  All levels welcome!
  • Hand Bells:  Our handbells meet every Wednesday at 5:30pm.  All levels are welcome!
  • Eucharistic Ministers/Acolytes:  Assist at the Eucharistic Table
  • Lectors: Read the assigned scripture texts of the day
  • Greeters:  Welcome people to the worship service. Guide them throughout the morning.
  • Ushers:  Help people find their way to the Eucharistic Table.
  • Altar Guild: Takes care of the altar.
  • Flower Guild: Arranges the flowers and decorations.
  • Streaming team:  Help with audio/visuals
  • Eucharistic Visitors: Go in teams to take communion to those who are sick or shut in.
