Jill’s first service as our rector will be on the day of Pentecost, Sunday, June 5.
Following the service, we will have our annual parish picnic. Please take the opportunity to join her as she begins her ministry with us.
We are blessed that on June 1 the Reverend Jill Williams will begin her ministry at St. Simon and St. Jude as our 6th rector.
Jill holds B.A. degrees in Education, English and Theater, and a Master of Divinity from the Virginia Theological Seminary.
She has served in a wide variety of substantial ministries. In her home diocese of Western Massachusetts, she served as Missioner for Christian Formation assisting each of the diocese’ 65 congregations create and share unique Christian formation programs. She also served as Director of the diocesan camp, responsible for program development, marketing, staffing, and financial operations.
Her parish ministry includes serving as Assistant Rector for a suburban program sized parish (approximately twice the size of St. Simon and St. Jude). She was Vicar at St. James, McClellanville. For that last five years she has as chaplain at Porter-Gaud Episcopal School and at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School where she was responsible for episcopal identity, religious curriculum, and spiritual life of over 800 students and 100 faculty.
Rev. Jill is a classically trained musician and vocalist, a certified spiritual director, a certified premarital counselor, and a grief specialist.
She is the wife of Andrew Williams, “the greatest husband and father in the whole wide world” and the mother of Jude, who is entering the 6th grade and Josh who is entering the 5th grade.
